Davontay Kwaaning is a dedicated fitness professional with a passion for customizing workouts to meet the everyday needs of his clients. From expectant mothers to retired collegiate and professional athletes, Davontay is committed to enhancing the fitness and knowledge of those he trains.
Originally from Chicago, IL, Davontay's journey into fitness began early. He participated in multiple sports, from running track in elementary school to playing on the Chicago Public High School Football All-Star team. His love for sports continued at the University of Illinois, where he was a student-athlete on the football team and earned both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sports Management.
Davontay's professional path in personal training started in June 2020 after studies at the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He caters to a diverse clientele, focusing on creating personalized plans that align with their lifestyle needs and goals.
Driven by his enduring passion for fitness and its benefits, Davontay founded the 1427Fitness brand. The brand offers a range of services from personal training sessions and group classes to personalized workout plans, all designed to be inclusive. This monthly in gym training session allows flexibility throughout the month so you can train at your convenience. We highly recommend training 2,3, or 4 times a week based on your chosen plan.

Vontay has helped me get on track all the way in Chicago! I am very familiar with exercise and making good dietary choices, but I fell off due to grief and the demands of adulting. I reached out to Vontay mostly to vent with an old friend about my struggles with getting back active/in shape. By the end of our convo, he helped me form a plan to start small and prioritize strength training, more intense cardio as walking wasn’t exerting enough for my body, and increasing my protein intake while remaining in a caloric deficit. He checked in over the weeks if I didn’t reach out first and I lost 5 pounds between two doctor’s visits that I didn’t even realize.
